The film was written and directed by Frank Darabont. Darabont had been interested in adapting The Mist for the big screen since the 1980s. "The Mist" is not "The Shawshank Redemption" in one crucial way. Whereas "The Shawshank Redemption" was about hope and life, "The Mist" is about hopelessness and death. And really, this is not what I expected. Afterall, I loved the pilot episode of The Mist and gave it a very positive review. Of course, I also had to return with a follow-up review of the following episodes, since it went very wrong, very quickly. The Mist is a great monster story. The whole plot mostly takes place inside the supermarket (at least the largest horror one). After a nasty storm a strange mist appears. And the things in it. People escaped the mist and what is lurking in it and now they either have to wait for it to pass or to do something horrible. Viewers have appreciated the adaptation of the Mist Darabont, F., the works of S. king and are eager for new impressions. Since the creation of the film, from 2007, a fascinating story attracts new fans. Released 22.07. 2017, the series attracted positive reviews.
